Today we are visiting the Hamar at Utrecht Central Station again. We meet Ingrid van der Chijs, who has developed a very special sustainable concept. It is known that there are many nomadic tribes, who live in a traditional way and back to basic, who actually live very sustainable. But what exactly is the definition of sustainable? Ingrid van der Chijs has, together with a business partner, developed a platform that focuses on sustainable lifestyle products. About two weeks ago, the platform, Seriouslygood.com, has been launched. It looks amazing, we are very interested in the story of Seriously Good!
Ingrid: 'Seriously Good is a new definition of good. It's a combination of an online magazine and a concept store. The purpose of the platform is to let others know how cool and beautiful sustainable products can be! On seriouslygood.com you will find Good Stories, Good People and Good Brands: people, brands, and stories that inspire and motivate. You can buy the products of these brands right away. I think we all want to make the world a better place, but often we do not exactly know where to begin. Seriously Good can help you with that!’ After reading some interesting articles, we took a peek in the concept store. And the offer is really extensive! There are over 75 beautiful brands and more than 1500 products, including clothing, personal care, and interior. We immediately added some items to our wish list! Because of Ingrid’s interest in sustainability and her digital expertise, the idea arose. In the previous years, she has worked for companies like Sanoma, RTL & Allerhande and has tackled many digital challenges. Ingrid: ‘I've got a lot of opportunities in my career, and from day one I've been focusing on the digital developments. I've been able to work for a lot of inspirational companies, and initially, I didn’t have the ambition to start a company, but I really missed a platform like this, so I thought, why not?’. Seriously Good works with a permanent team of two and with freelance content and e-commerce editors.
Ingrid is a familiar face, 9 months ago she became a member of Tribes. ‘I was looking for a location that is well accessible with public transport. Partly because of the fact that's not necessary to take the car to come here. In addition, the Tribes' vision matches with the concept of Seriously Good.’ She thinks Tribes is an inspirational place to work and she likes it here. Seriously Good has the ambition to inspire you and many others with Good Stories, Good People and Good Brands outside the Netherlands. Therefore, they are looking for an investor who wants to make an international success of the concept!
